Walter Joe Brister, 62, of Huntsville, Texas passed away on January 16, 2015 in Houston, Texas. Joe was born November 17, 1952 in Montgomery, Texas to Jack and Mary Brister. He worked for the Texas forestry service as a logger. He is preceeded in death by his parents John and Mary Brister, brother Johnny Brister, and brother Jerry Brister.

Cherishing his memory are his son James Brister and wife Candice; daughter Lindsay Forsberg and husband Dustin; granddaughter Mary; grandson Bailey; grandson Mikey; grandson Riley; brother Louise Ray Brister, and wife Glenda of Willis, Texas; brother Larry Brister, and wife Elaine of Cleveland, Texas; sister Carolyn Brister Weaver, and husband Rob of Huntsville, Texas; sister Margie Brister Falgout and partner Jimmy Richard of Dulac, Louisiana; numerous nieces, and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Saturday January 24, 2015 at his residence in Tomball, Texas at 24954 Baily Grove Rd, Montgomery, Texas 77356, pastor Timothy Dixon presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Memorial Herman Foundation Childrens Burn Unit, 929 Gessner, Suite 2650, Houston, Texas 77024. Services are under the direction of Waller-Thornton Funeral Home Huntsville.
