Wayne "Boogie" Brooks passed from this world to spend his eternal life in heaven on May 2, 2013 at his home in Willis, Texas. Wayne was an accomplished musician who began playing the piano by ear at a young age & was taught by his piano playing grandfather, Dallas Shroyer. He has performed in all 50 states in the US & many foreign countries playing everything from country, jazz, ragtime, pop and eventually found his favorite in gospel music. He was a regular on the Southern Empress Cruise Ship in Lake Conroe for several years and has been the piano player for Lone Star Cowboy Church, Montgomery County for the last 9 years.

Services will be Tuesday, May 7 at 11 am at the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Montgomery County with Pastor Randy Weaver officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the church prior to the service. Graveside and burial will be at 4pm at Davis Cemetery, Grapeland with Dr. Bill Gernenz officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne W. Brooks, Sr. & Dorothy E. Brooks & grandparents Dallas & Mary Shroyer & J.W. & Ora Brooks. Survivors include his son, Bob Huntley & wife Linda of Georgetown; daughter Desiree Dunning & husband Mike of Plugerville; 3 grandchildren, Jared Huntley, Mallory Huntley, & Colin Huntley; sister Barbara Andrews & husband Danny of Elkhart along with several nieces and nephews.
