William "Bill" Friddell, born on May 18, 1927 passed away in Conroe, Texas on June 17, 2014. Bill graduated from Berkley High School in Berkley, California in 1945. Soon after graduation he joined the army and went overseas to Korea. He met the love of his life, Fern Majors, in Galveston and they were married on July 16, 1949. Throughout his young and mid-life he played fast pitch softball He was an extraordinary pitcher into his 50's and played tournament ball all around the State of Texas. Bill traveled the country with his construction company up until his retirement in 1988. After retirement he continued to use his master craftsmen skills and he became an avid gardener. Bill was always there to help a friend. Bill got the most pleasure from being with his family and watching it grow. The Patriarch of the family will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Faye Friddell, brother Bobby Friddell, sister Patricia Conger and infant twin grandsons. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Fern Friddell, his son Dale Friddell and wife Debbie, his daughters Patricia Case and husband Patrick, Dawn McMinn and husband Bobby and Denise Holley and husband Donald. He also leaves behind his siblings, Shirley Ibsen, Delores Robertson, Roy Friddell, Norman Friddell, Gloria Jordan, Donnie Friddell and Roland Friddell. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous family members and a host of friends. Special thanks to Bill's caregivers, Connie Anderson, Queb Chapol, Morganne Reed and the Ladies from Azalea House, Becky, Sam and Debbie.

Visitation will be Friday June 20, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas from 6-8 p.m., with funeral being held Saturday June 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Smith Memorial Park, Willis, Texas.
