William Lloyd "Blackie" Meador was reunited with his beloved wife, Jessie Ruth "Poodle" Meador on Friday, May 4, 2012 to continue their love story. He was the tenth of eleven children born to Ed and Hattie Meador on March 11, 1925. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, May 8, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas. Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Willis First Baptist Church in Willis, Texas. Interment will follow at County Line Baptist Church in San Jacinto County.

Lloyd is survived by his children; Mike and Janie Meador, Marilyn and Don Jennings, and Bill and Daphne Meador. He is survived by nine grandchildren and their spouses;

Gary and Deanna Meador, Michelle and Shane Dunn, Wendi and Lewis Davis, Carrie and Tony Starr, Misti West, Scott Shriver, April Meador, Casey Meador and Whitney and Colby Hair. Great-grandchildren are Ashley, Mason, Morgan, Brooke, Braden, Bailey, Riley, Dalton, Melody, Claire, Travis, Avary, Janie Cate, Ethan and Walker. One great-great grandchild, Tracy also survives. The family would like to extend their grateful appreciation to Sandy Lane, lovingly known to the family as "Peanut". She was a devoted caregiver to Poodle and Lloyd in their final years.

"Blackie" graduated from Willis High School in 1942 and married his high school sweetheart, "Poodle" in 1945. He worked for Jefferson Chemical for 27 years, retiring in 1982. He served 15 years as a WISD trustee, helped organize the first Little League Baseball Association in Willis, and was honored in 2008 by having his name placed on the fifth elementary school in Willis Independent School District.
