William Lonnie (WL) Luckey, 81 of Conroe Texas passed away on March 3, 2015 peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. WL was born on September 29, 1933 in Salty Texas to Wallace and Louella Luckey. He grew up in Houston Texas and graduated Smiley High School. He married Ruby Ellen Walker on November 29, 1955 and over the years had 3 children, Bill, Linda & Tracy. He started working for Western Electric when he was just out of school and then joined the US Navy. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he returned to Western Electric/Southwestern Bell and retired in the early 1980's. He was then able to spend more time with his lifelong obsession, addiction, love - antique street rods. After the death of his wife Ruby, he met and married Catherine Tessitore. WL is survived by his wife, Cathy, son Bill Luckey and wife Ann of Tomball, daughter Linda Luckey Springer of Conroe, and son Tracy Luckey and wife Rhonda of Conroe, seven grandchildren; Sarah Luckey, Amanda (Springer) Jones (husband Silas), Corrigan Luckey (wife Kayla), Ranger Luckey, Clayton Springer, Mason Luckey and Madelynn Luckey, great-grand daughter June Jones and great-grandson Buster Jones. He is also survived by step-daughter Christy Sims and significant other Jesse Jones and 3 step-grandchildren, Kierica Sims, Tiana Sims, and Jadyn Sims, along with one nephew Wayne Morris, two nieces Rebekah (Lee) Wilson, Kelli (Lee) Villarreal, and a multitude of cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Ruby Luckey. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road in Conroe with the retired Rev. Jabo Green officiating. Visitation will be Saturday morning at 9:00 am. Interment will be at the Salty Cemetery in Rockdale Texas at 3:00 pm the same day. Pallbearers will be Shannon Graber, Rick White, Hal Robbins, Carroll Lynn, Johnny Fleissner, Leroy Stephens, and honorary pall bearers are Durwood Tucker and Jesse Jones. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Gentiva Hospice of Conroe at 936.788.7707.
