Funeral services for William Sherman Weeks, 83, longtime resident of Shenandoah, Texas will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with the Rev. David Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Houston National Cemetery. Mr. Weeks will receive full military honors from the Air Force Honor Guard. The Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. (1504 N. Thompson St. Conroe, TX 77301)

Mr. Weeks was born on July 26, 1929 in Grayson County, Virginia and passed away peacefully on January 25, 2013 in Shenandoah, Texas. Bill was an honorable man who was caring, compassionate, and was a "true fighter" who loved life and his country. He will be missed, but his memory will live on through the hearts of his dear family and friends. Mr. Weeks had an outstanding 30 year career in the Armed Forces, starting with World War II, continuing throughout the Korean War, and ending with two tours in the Vietnam War. He first served in the Army for five years and then transferred to the Air Force, when he retired in 1974 as Chief Master Sergeant. After retirement, Bill worked as a Landman within the Oil industry, he was a licensed real estate agent, a licensed insurance agent, maintenance supervisor at Nasa and Catapillar, and owned an auto repair and restoration business. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge; 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, Member of the Chapter, Council and Commander of the Shrine; and a Colonel of the Legion of the Honor in Wichita Falls, TX. Bill held a Bachelor's Degree from Wayland Baptist University and also attended the University of Omaha and the University of Maryland, where he was placed on the Dean's List. He loved the great outdoors and was a true animal lover. Bill also enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; sisters, Dorothy and Jean; first wife, Katharina Weeks; mother-in-law, Lottie Berry and his dear son, James Calvin Weeks. Bill is survived by his loving family: wife, Judy Berry Weeks; children, William Sherman Weeks, Jr. and Sherman Nathaniel Weeks and wife, Caitlyn; Karen Thibodeaux and husband, Robbie, Brenda Hatfield and husband, Jim, Veronda Smitherman and husband, Jeff, Steven Berry and wife, Staci, and Alesha Maalouf and husband, Omar; grandchildren, Faith Turner and husband, Jeff, Lauren, Trey, Courtney Locke, Tisha Gibson and husband, Kevin, Amber, Taylor, Sarah, Justin, Samuel, Cameron, Dylan, Jay and Dallas; great grandchildren, Kathryn, Preslie, Parker and Shawn; second wife, Carolyn Weeks Turner; numerous nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends also survive.
