Willie LaVerne Hoeser Srader, age 97 years and 4 months, entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, January 30, 2015. She was a resident at W.R.C. Tx St. Vet. Home in Temple, TX for the past 6 years. LaVerne was born September 27, 1917 in Lovelady, TX, second of 12 children, and oldest of 7 daughters, born to Will and Verne Hoeser.

Left to cherish her memory, 1 brother, W.L.(Sam) Hoeser of LaRue, TX; 2 sisters, Stella Buckhannon of Universal City, TX and Laura Jelks of New Waverly, TX; 1 brother-in-law, Clifford Krcha Sr. of Sinton, TX; 19 nieces; 11 nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding her through death, her parents, Will and Verne Hoeser; 4 brothers, Carnell, Thomas, Oscar, and Maurice Hoeser; 4 sisters, Betty Lou Bailey, Jannie Bullock, Annie Krcha, Mary Kolojoco; 2 nieces, Barbara Nell Kirkland and Glenda Strange; and 2 nephews, Mark McCain and David Buckhannan.

LaVerne served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII along with her sister Mary and 4 brothers in the military service. She was like a second mother and dear friend to all her siblings. She often served as a stand-in Grandmother to many children and for her nieces and nephews. She loved her family very much. She demonstrated her love for people with kindness, encouragement, and service. She was a Christian Lady and served in several Baptist Churches throughout her life.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to all the staff and workers at the W.R.C. Tx St. Vet. Home for their compassionate and loving care given to our sister and aunt during her time there. A special thanks to Michelle Carr and Teresa Sloan for their ministry of love and comfort during the final hours.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 10129 FM 1097 W, Willis, TX. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 4 from 10 to 11 AM, with the Funeral Services officiated by Rev. Cliff Krcha, Jr., beginning at 11 AM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 2:30 PM later that same day at Brookside Memorial Park in the Garden of Gethsemane Section, on Lauder Rd in Houston, TX. Pallbearers will be Morgan McCain, Matt Pierce, Troy Buckhannan, Tom Houser, Abdaul Ghazi, and Henry Sloan. Written condolences may be left at www.shmfh.com .
