Wilma June Tinney Stowe was born on July 3, 1925 in Adamson, Oklahoma to John Frank and Nellie Keatting Tinney. The family lived in Oklahoma briefly before moving to Joinerville, Texas, where she grew up and graduated from Gaston High School in 1943. Shortly after her graduation, June's father was transferred to Conroe to work in the Conroe Oil Field. June went to work at Everett & Sons in downtown Conroe, where she met Jim Ferguson Stowe. After their first meeting, Jim went home and told his family that he had met the woman that he was going to marry. The two were married in Conroe on July 30, 1945.

Jim and June settled in Conroe near his birthplace and raised their daughter Jo Nell. They enjoyed traveling, gardening, hunting and fishing. During this time, June worked as a cafeteria manager at Anderson Elementary School in Conroe. Family was so very important to them and they enjoyed spending much of their time with their granddaughter Angie and later great grandchildren, Cassidy and Corbin.

Wilma June Stowe passed away peacefully on August 4, 2016 in Conroe, at the age of 91. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Jim F. Stowe, son-in-law Gus W. Derrick, her parents and 5 brothers and sisters. June is survived by her daughter Jo Nell Bozman and husband John, granddaughter Angela Adair Poehl and husband Chris, great grandchildren Cassidy Adair Poehl and Corbin Christopher Poehl. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 12:30pm with burial following in Garden Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Christopher Poehl, Corbin Poehl, John Bozman, Jim Noble, George Stowe, John Gregory, Jeremy Fishback and Bull Jones.
