Zola Faye Hurley, age 78, passed away July 2, 2015 in Frederick, MD where she had recently moved to be closer to her daughter, granddaughter and son in law. Born May 10 th , 1937 in Houston, Texas where she remained a lifetime resident until just this past year. She was a graduate of Incarnate Word Academy and worked for Humble Oil, she also worked as a beauty operator with her mother at the Tower Beauty Salon on Westheimer, in Central Houston. She later achieved a successful career in Real Estate in South Montgomery County where she and her husband and soul mate Ronald Hurley settled and raised their family. She and her husband enjoyed their retirement years traveling across the USA in their motor home and living in the beautiful home they built in the Texas Hill Country.

Zola was full of unconditional love and devotion to her family and many friends who meant everything to her. They often looked to her for wisdom and guidance, as she had an undeniable gift of being able to have the right words to make any situation better no matter how bad it may be. She was a great mentor and a rock for so many people. She was spiritual, loving, intelligent, happy, enthusiastic and vibrant in every way. Most of all she was a lot of fun! She truly enjoyed hosting parties and gatherings that were full of great fun, food and laughs. She even hosted several weddings for family and friends and was known to have a keen sense for match making. Zola always enjoyed the beauty and good things in life. She was always doing her part to see the bright side and liked to make things nice and pretty. She liked to stay busy and enjoyed gardening, cooking delicious meals, reading, knitting, learning, teaching, keeping a to do list and jovially conversing with whomever she may meet. She was this and so much more, a super great lady who will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ronald L. Hurley, parents Raimund L. Coons and Mary Daisy Elizabeth Coles Coons her sister's Shirley Marie Warbasse and Sally Ann Hauser, and brother Robert L. Coons, her sons Michael Andrew Hurley and Robin Joseph Hurley, and grandchildren Jacqueline Michelle Shayuth and John David McDaniel.

Zola is survived by her children, Sheri Hurley Shayuth and husband Brian; Ronalyn Hurley, David Hurley, Christopher Hurley and wife Trisha, Scott Hurley and wife Beth; grandchildren, Jessica Shayuth, Lesa Ford, Kelly Polk, Kristin Hurley Angulo, Maya Jon Baugher, Catherine Wyatt, Alex Gandy, Margaret Gandy, and Kathryn Ann Denman; great-grandchildren, Ryan Ford, Ashely Young, Michael Mitchell, Christopher Polk, Amelie Angulo and Truman Denman; great- great grandchildren Lilly Ford and Peyton Mitchell; sisters Nancy Coons Martinsen and Judy Jean Coons Hager and her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2015 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven.

A reception gathering will follow at the home of Scott and Beth Hurley, 23119 Bayleaf Dr., Spring Texas 77373.
