Msgr. Charles Beausang

Msgr. Charles Christopher died Aug. 24 in Port Charlotte Florida age 79. Born Dec. 17 1921 in Worcester Mass. Msgr. Beausang attend St.Charles Seminary in Catonsville MD from 1939-41 and St. Mary's in Baltimore MD from 1941-1946. He was ordained June 29 1946 in Camden by Bishop Bartholomew Eustace. Msgr. Beausang served as an assistant pastor at several parishes in the Camden Diocese including Our Lady Star of the Sea Atlantic City St. Peter Merchantville; St. Mary Gloucester City and Christ the King Haddonfield. In June 1955 he served as administrator at Transfiguration Parish in West Collingswood and in August 1955 he was appointed pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Mays Landing. He served as associate editor for the Catholic Star Herald in 1957 & was appointed a Diocean Synodal examiner in October 1957. In June 1961 he was appointed Diocesan director of cemeteries. In June 1966 Msgr. Bea usang was appointed pastor of St. Bernadette Church in Northfield where he served until he retired January 1 1992. He was named a Domestic Prelate in June 1967. He was appointed as a member of the Diocesan Task Force in March 1970. He served as secretary of the National Catholic Cemetery Association in 1974 and resigned as Diocesan director of cemeteries in 1973. Msgr. Beausang's body will be received at St. Bernadette's Church 1421 New Road Northfield NJ at2pm Wednesday August 30. A viewing will be held from 2pm until 7:45pm at the church. A Mass of Jesus Christ the High Priest will be celebrated at 8pm Wed. A Funeral Mass will also be celebrated at 10am Thursday August 31 at St. Berna dette's RC Church. Interment will be in New St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr NJ. Arrangements by ADAMS-PERFECT FUNERAL HOME Northfield NJ.
