Donald H. McComb

Haddon Twp. - Donald H. McComb, of Haddon Twp., passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home with his family. He was 84. Don's younger years were mainly dedicated to sports. He greatly excelled in baseball, basketball, and football. Don was an All-American and football Captain for Villanova University. He was later drafted by the NY Giants in 1956 and later briefly played for the Eagles and Patriots. Following his football career, he taught for over 25 years at Gloucester High School. He was inducted into the South Jersey Baseball, Camden Catholic, and Camden County Halls of Fame.

He is survived by his loving wife Loretta of over 38 years; six beloved children, Lizann Ward (Patrick), Mimi Campbell (Bruce), Dr. Joseph McComb (Marcie), Donald McComb, Caitlin McDermott (Shane), Maddie McComb; and eleven cherished grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am, Thursday at St. Aloysius Church, 37 W. Haddon Avenue, Oaklyn. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10 am until time of service at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation,111 Presidential Blvd., Suite 203, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. I met Coach when I was a freshmen at Gloucester High. I was lucky to have a real Pro as my coach! He was a funny likable guy larger than life.
