Jennifer Dawn Whitman
Blackwood - Jennifer Dawn Whitman, age 39, long time resident of Blackwood, NJ was suddenly taken from us. Loving mother of 5 beautiful children; Andrew Mangano, Aubrie Mangano, Savanna Lannon, Rebekah-Lyn Lannon, and Sean Michael Lannon. Beloved daughter of David and Sharon Whitman (nee Zipkin). Dear sister of Kimberly Bermudez (Joshua), Christopher Whitman (Kathleen), and Sarah Whitman. Fun-loving aunt to Abigail, Madison, Isabella, Arianna, Jacob, and Kayla. Cherished niece and cousin to many aunts, uncles, and cousins in her large, close-knit family. Jennifer was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Alvin Zipkin and Joan Zipkin (nee Pensyl) and paternal grandparents David Whitman and Florence Whitman (nee Young).
Jennifer grew up in Blackwood, NJ. She graduated from Highland High School in 1999. During her high school years, she developed a love for theater and music. She participated in many theater productions. Jenn was also a part of the high school color guard and the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corp. She also learned and proudly played the harp at church, weddings, and other events.
Jennifer had a passion for learning. She earned her BA in journalism and her MA in Psychology from Rutgers University, Camden. She went on to earn her RN license from Helene Fuld College of Nursing.
Jennifer was known to enjoy reality tv shows, especially The Bachelor. She also had a love for the tv show Friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cherished every moment with them. Jennifer was known for planning family dinners, game nights, and many family vacations to Lancaster, the Jersey shore, and Disney World. Jenn was loved by many and will be missed greatly.
Visitation will be Monday, March 29, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bethel Church, 1583 Blackwood-Clementon Road, Blackwood, NJ 08012, where her funeral service will begin at 8:00 PM. (Visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM will be open to the public, guests attending the 8:00 PM service must pre-register to attend). Facial coverings, social distancing, and temperature checks will be required. Please be prepared to wait outside until building occupancy limits permit entry. Interment at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ, will be held privately for immediate family and close friends only. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faces of Change, PO Box 2632, Camden, NJ 08101.
