Gloucester City - John E. Vandvelt, on July 8, 2018, of Gloucester City. Age 86. Beloved husband of the late LaVonne (nee Lange). Companion of Maryann Taylor. Devoted father of Linda Brodo (Walter), Owen Vandvelt (Michele), and Margaret Vandvelt (Tom Donahue). Lifelong friends of Debra and Ronald Morse. Loving grandfather of Bryan, Thomas III, Patrick, William Donahue and 7 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Bettina Spiller and the late Thomas, Owen, and Lillian. John was survived by many nieces and nephews, the Taylor Family, and his dog Montana. He was a Teamster Local 676 retiree, member of the 29ers, an avid bowler, a die-hard Eagles and Phillies fan, and loved to people watch from his porch. John served in the U.S. Army and Air Force. There will be a viewing from 10am to 12am Thursday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral service at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hurffville.
