Martha Rose Bradley Obituary
Martha Rose Bradley

Gloucester Twp. - Martha Rose (Laurelli) Bradley, on July 7, 2018, of Gloucester Twp., NJ. Age 84. Beloved wife of the late Francis Michael Bradley. Loving mother of Claire Paugh (Joseph), Martha Wharton, and Sandra Rehrig (Troy). Devoted grandmother of Michael Alan, Samantha Marie, Christopher Thomas, Natalie Rose, Stephanie Marie, Kathryn Julia and James Bailey, III.

Martha was a 1951 graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic Girls' High School. She began teaching piano at 17 and worked as an office manager at The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company and then Lukens, Savage, and Washburn Insurance Brokers until she "retired" in 1962 to begin raising her family. In 1956 Martha's love of the organ and her strong Catholic faith led her to an additional career as a church organist and choir director. She began at St. Richard of Chichester in South Philadelphia, where she remained for 25 years. She became organist and choir director, then Director of Music at St Maria Goretti Church in Runnemede, NJ, and remained there 32 years until she retired in 2017.

Martha attended college part time at Glassboro State while raising her daughters, caring for her aging mother and teaching as many as 40 concurrent piano students. She proudly graduated with a BA in Music in 1983 after performing her senior organ solo recital and began teaching Art, Music, and English and directing the school musicals at Gloucester Catholic High School. Martha was an active member of Holy Child Parish, St. Maria Goretti Church where she served on the Liturgical Committee and was instrumental in the RCIA program. She was also proud to be the longest resident (since 1969) of her treasured Broadmoor development and a founding member and past president of The Women's Club of Broadmoor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 7 to 9pm Thursday evening and from 9:15 to 10:15am Friday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral Mass 11am Friday at Holy Child Parish, St. Maria Goretti Church, Runnemede. Interment Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton. Donations may be made in Martha's name to Gloucester Catholic High School, 333 Ridgeway Street, Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Family and friends may share memories at www.GardnerFuneralHome.com.
