AGE: 86 • Audubon

Loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on March 15, 2014, of Audubon, NJ. Age 86 years.

Al is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia; three children and their spouses: Alfred and Margaret Murray of Audubon, Dana and Maurice Ball of Haddon Twp., Charles and Kasey Murray of Audubon; six grandchildren: Anne and Grace Murray, Lindsey and Chad Ball, Erin and Alexa Murray; two brothers: Donald (Joyce) Murray of Lancaster, PA and Brig. Gen. Douglas Murray, USAF (Ret.) of Roswell, NM; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Blanche Patton.

Al was a lifelong resident of Audubon, where he owned and operated Murray's Market on Merchant Street for many years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of American Legion Murray-Troutt Post 262 in Audubon for 62 years and is a past Commander of the Post. He was a member of the Audubon Fire Department for 63 years.

Spending time with family and friends brought Al his greatest pleasure. Special memories included annual vacations in Ocean City, travel to all 50 states, four RV trips across the country and one to Alaska, ski trips to many resorts in the United States and Switzerland, 40 years of attending Eagles games, many camping weekends and family celebrations.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday Evening 7 to 9 PM and Thursday 10 to 11 AM at FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 250 White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ. Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
