Jane M. Ballard

Of Burlington City died Saturday February 3 2007 at her residence she was 84 years of age.
Born in Burlington on July 1 1922 she was the daughter of the late Berry & Margaret McCarty. A lifetime Burlington resident she was a graduate of Cathedral Girls High School in Trenton class of 1940. Jane retired as Administrative Secretary to the Superintendent of Burlington City Schools in 1984 after 23 years of service. A life long member of St. Paul's R.C. Church she was a member of the church's Altar & Rosary Society a Lector and Eucharistic Minister she was the Director of the Bereavement Choir as well. A Trustee and secretary to the Library Company of Burlington and Trustee to the Senior Citizens Housing and Development Corporation she was the first president of Holy Cross High School P.T.A. and the first president of St. Paul's Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club. Past president of St. Paul's School P.T.A. and past president of the Women's Club of Burlington she was also past treasure of the Trenton Diocesan P.T.A. and a former member of the Burlington County Nocturnal Adoration Society.
Predeceased in 1996 by her husband of 53 years George R. Ballard Jane is survived by her sons and daughters-in- law: Richard & Patricia Ballard of Florence Robert & Cynthia Ballard of Burlington David and Laurie Ballard of Burlington Brian & Lore Ballard of Mullica Hill Lorraine Ballard of Burlington and her brother and sister in law Jack & Jane McCarty of Burlington Township. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Timothy & (Jackie) Kirk & (Alyssa) Allison Basantis Melissa Ryan Kelley Karlee Rylee Mackenzee and one great-granddaughter: Kendel as well as her niece Margaret (Peg) McGair and two nephews John and Kevin McCarty.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's R. Church E. Union St. Burlington. Entombment will follow in Laurel Hill Mausoleum Jacksonville Rd. Burlington. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 and again Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:30 at the Page Funeral Home 302 E. Union St. Burlington.
