Fred was a decorated Marine Staff Sargent who served in the military from September 14, 1948 to August 15, 1952. He was awarded the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, United Nations Korean Service Medal, Republic of Korea War Medal, and Marine Rifle Marksman Badge. His Military Occupational Specialty was Aircraft Radio Repairman on the Marine F4U Corsair Fighter-Bomber. In business, he was in the plasterers union and was also a foreman of the family business that his dad Vincenzo Fiorentino founded. He was in that business for over 50 years.
Fred was a wonderful family man, musician (while he played multiple instruments the saxophone was his favorite), great dancer, boater, skier and scuba diver. He loved life and made the best of every moment he lived. Rarely did you see him without a smile on his face.
His wife Elsa (Kimmich) predeceased him in 2005. He is at peace with God and reunited with his wife of 50 years.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Ann Cloud (Dutch), Louise Thomson (Bill) and Carla Scardecchio. He has 3 grandchildren, Tom Oteri, Nick Luci and Crystal Scardecchio-Pierson. 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
He will always be in our hearts and memories.
Services will be held at a later date after this pandemic goes away and it will be semi-private.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Association.

Dear Ann, Louise & Carla,
I apologize for this belated condolence, but I just heard of your father's passing. I have such warm memories of Uncle Freddy. He was always smiling and joking at Grandmom's house. He was such a nice man as well as a very caring father to you girls.
It is sad to think that now all of the Fiorentinos are gone, but I am sure they are all together at a big table with a plastic table cloth, having a meal with courses that never end and conversations and arm waving going from one end of the table to the other.
I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear about Fred. I send my condolences to his entire family and my thoughts are with you. I have known him since I was 3yrs old. He was always funny, joking around, smiling and ready to have a good time. He loved his family, friends and music. And was a fantastic saxophone player. I loved to hear him play. He will be missed.
