Wilbur A. Demarest
Newburgh, IN
Wilbur A. Demarest, 88, of Newburgh, IN passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019. He was born in Inkster, MI on July 21, 1930 to Isaac and Lena Demarest.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. Wilbur was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1114 and American Legion Kapperman Post 44. He retired from ALCOA after 28 years.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Geneva Morris.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred E. Demarest; sons, Kenneth Demarest (Anna), John Demarest; daughters, Sara Ball, Linda Evans (Mike); 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Randall Demarest (Renita); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Father Joseph Ziliak with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. The Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military services at the cemetery. Friends may visit 2-7 p.m. on Monday and 11:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
