Born in Bridgeport, CT, Richard was 94 years old. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Campaign with Company C, 534th Engineer Boat and Shore Regiment in Australia, the Philippines and Japan. After the war, Richard attended Central Connecticut State University and was certified to teach Industrial Arts. He taught in the Stratford Public School system for more than 30 years; first at Wooster Junior High School and then at Bunnell High School. Richard is survived by his wife, Claire Marks Eddinger and his seven children: Margaret Haase, Richard Eddinger, Beth Wesley, Lauren Eddinger-Danner, Thomas Eddinger, Lois Krahn and Kathryn Bomann. He was blessed with 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Emil and Olga Jabs Eddinger and his four siblings: Elsie Elander, Caroline Rentz, Bradford Eddinger and May Hanbury. Richard was a skilled woodworker. I had Mr. Eddinger for woodworking class at Wooster in 1963/1964. He picked my step stool as the " what not to do" and then demonstrated how it could be fixed. He was a passionate teacher and a great guy. And I kept and used that step stool right through 2017. God bless Mr. Eddinger and his family.

I am guessing the pearly gates will soon be replaced with Mahogany (SMILE).

I had Me Eddinger at Wooster back in 1973. He picked my step stool as the worst mistake and then used it to demonstrate how you could fix a mistake. He was a great guy and a passionate teacher. And that step stool went with me through the year 2017 when I finally parted with it.

God bless Mr. Eddinger and his family.

I am guessing the pearly gates will be changed to Mahogany.

Mr. Eddinger taught me the "right way" to do woodworking thus creating a lifelong passion for the craft. That was 1957 at the brand spanking new Wooster Jr. High. A great educator. Well done. Be thou now at peace.
