Cecelia P. Roog Rafalowski Obituary
RAFALOWSKI Cecilia P. Roog (Róg) Rafalowski, age 85, wife of the late John P. Rafalowski, Sr., died November 24, 2009. She was born in Derby on April 12, 1924, daughter of the late Peter and Anielia Garbien Roog. Prior to her retirement, Ceil was secretary to the Dean of Students at Southern Connecticut State University. She was a member of St. Michael Church, Derby, a member of the Derby Historical Society, a member of the Kosciusko Society, a member of the Republican Town Committee and also active in Ansonia town politics, and ran for Mayor of Ansonia in 1979. She was also a Justice of the Peace. Survivors include one son, John P. Rafalowski, Jr. and his wife, Catherine of Orange; two daughters, Cecilia Oliwa and Pauline R. Totaro, both of Ansonia; one brother, Walter Roog and his wife, Lucille of Shelton; four grandsons, Dr. Neil Oliwa and his wife, Lori, James Totaro, Jason Totaro, Nicholas Totaro; and one great grandson, Brandon Oliwa. Friends are invited to go DIRECTLY to St. Michael Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on SATURDAY, November 28. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby. Calling hours will be FRIDAY from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Bednar-Osiecki Funeral Home, 87 South Cliff Street, Ansonia.
