Dora M. Perez-Robaina
Dora M. Perez-Robaina died in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday July 8, 2018 at the age of 96. She was the beloved wife of the late Emilio Fernandez-Constanzo. Dora was born on May 24, 1922 to her parents Antonio and Encarnacion Robaina in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. Dora was blessed with a large and loving family. She was kind, soft spoken and always had time to talk to her family. Dora taught her family her love for God, patience, discipline and humility. Family reunions were very important for her, where she would share her knowledge of Cuban cuisine and her heritage. Her hobbies were reading and listening to music. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with God. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Madelin Gonzales her Aid, Sandra Gibson her visiting Nurse and Vitas Home Hospice.
Dora is survived by her daughter Dora Velez, her son Rafael Fernandez and his wife Lourdes, her son Emilio Fernandez and his wife Sori of Cuba and her daughter Isabel and her husband AJ Perez. Her grandchildren Armand Perez, Gabriella Perez, Miguel Velez and his wife Maia, Carlos Velez and his wife Katia, Rafael Fernandez and his wife Belkis, Yohanis Fernandez, Samira Fernandez, Alicia Fernandez, Samantha Fernandez and her husband Mike. Also her great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dora is preceded in death by her husband Emilio Fernandez, her parents Antonio and Encarnacion, her brothers Thomas, Antonio, Gustabo, Ismael, Maximo, Ariel and her sister sisters Dulce, Isabel, Theresa, Zoila and her son in law Rafael Velez.
Calling hours will take place on Friday July 13, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull, followed by interment in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton.
