Elliott D. Rubin
Elliott D. Rubin, age 84 of Southbury, CT., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2017. Mr. Rubin was born in North Adams, MA, a son of the late Joseph and Lillian Rubin. Elliott graduated from North Adams High School and North Adams Teachers College before obtaining his Doctorate in Psychology from Fairfield University. He was a dedicated school psychologist in the Fairfield public schools, a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom of Bridgeport, and he always put the needs of other ahead of his own. Mr. Rubin proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Elliott is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Rubin, his devoted children Eric Rubin (Diana Tommessilli) of Wallingford, C.T, Michael Rubin and his wife Ellen of Seymour, CT., his adored grandchildren; Jeffrey Rubin and his fiancé Jessica Bulan, Joshua Rubin and his wife Aidy, Jaclyn Rubin, numerous nieces and nephews, and his many lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his cherished siblings; Tybie Kollman and her husband Ken, Lois Feldman her husband Albert, Harvey Rubin and his wife Elaine. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Steven Kunkas for his years of dedication and care for Elliott. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT., with interment following at Beth El Cemetery, 250 Reid Street, Fairfield, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.

My condolences to Elliott's loved ones. I remember him from teaching in the Fairfield Schools with him as an extremely kind and sensitive man who brought gentleness and caring to all of his relationships with students and fellow teachers.
