My sincere condolences to Lucy's family. She was brilliant legal scholar who encouraged all her students to think creatively yet in a legal context. I always enjoyed seeing and speaking with her. I know she truly loved her work and the law.

I worked with Lucy in the late 70s at Koskoff, Koskoff and Bieder. She was brilliant, kind, caring, warm and never without a smile. In the past few years, I saw her at a party, and all she wanted to talk about was me and my life. Rest in peace Lucy. You will surely be missed. I'm very sorry Alan. Fondly, Barbara Faye Larocca

Lucy was a friend and colleague at NYU Law School, in the Aurhur Garfield Hays Program and at the Columbia Center on Social Welfare Law. I spoke with her a couple of years ago when I was writing an article about the early cases seeking Medicaid for poor women who needed abortion. She was as smart, warm, lively as ever. My heart goes out to her family. Sylvia A. Law, NYU Law School.

Underlying the many credentials and honors was the light and warmth of a caring woman, one who never ceased to serve and love. My loneliness at her passing will endure because the loss to us all is real.
