1938-2018 Mr. Richard Philip Boivin, 80, passed away at his home in Canton, GA on July 10, 2018 surrounded by his family.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, in Stratford, Connecticut on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
Richard was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut where he was raised by his parents Philip and Manda (Poirier) Boivin.
He was a proud graduate of both Fairfield Prep and Fairfield University where he worked his way through school earning a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. He served in the Army Reserves for 6 years and shortly after, met and married the love of his life, Beverly.
He spent 38 years of his life dedicated to his work as a Purchasing Manager at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT. He was an avid snow skier, golfer, NY Giants fan and loved traveling with his wife and family, most especially to Vermont and Cancun, Mexico. He had a passion for vintage cars, and owned many throughout his life, most notably his 1965 red mustang convertible.
After retirement, he moved with his wife to Canton, GA where he was a ranger at Fairways of Canton Golf Course. He was active in numerous neighborhood clubs and traveled north often to visit family.
His constant smile touched many lives and he will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Beverly (Vane) and his daughters Nicole (Boivin) Majka and husband John of Toms River, New Jersey and Denise Boivin Iassogna and husband Dan of Marietta, Georgia; as well as his grandchildren, Katie, Brian, Madeleine and Victoria who lovingly knew him as "Papa Rich."
