Wendy Carpenter Obituary
Wendy J. Carpenter
Wendy J. Carpenter, age 63, of Stratford, formerly of Fairfield, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. She was the daughter of Joan A. (Crespo) Carpenter of Fairfield and the late Robert A. Carpenter. Wendy was retired from her teaching position with the Stamford School System. She truly loved children and throughout her career many of her students often mistakenly called her "Mom", as they deeply sensed, and freely returned, the love she had for them. She received an award for her creation of a documentary for Channel 13 titled "13 Magazine", which promoted interest in education, and had many published articles in Seventeen Magazine. In her leisure time Wendy enjoyed skiing, travel, decorating and baking, and was especially known for her delicious quiche, Irish soda bread and meatballs. She is also survived by her daughters, Renee Rose Carpenter and Natalie Ann Carpenter; her aunt and uncle, Kathleen and Ralph Manente of Monroe; cousins, Karen Clausi and her husband James of Trumbull and Michael Manente and his wife Melinda of Sudbury, MA. She was also predeceased by her sister, Donna Rozanne Sederquest. The family wishes to thank the nursing and medical staff at Smilow for their kindness and care during Wendy's illness and ask that contributions be made in her memory to any foundation benefiting cancer research. Private funeral services took place on Wednesday under the direction of the FAIRFIELD FUNERAL HOME of EDMUND W. DOUGIELLO, 36 South Pine Creek Road.
