Although almost sixty years have passed, I still have such fond memories of Miss Miska. She was my teacher at Beardsley School in Bridgeport. She was everyone's favorite teacher because of her kind smile, caring ways, and great teaching style. She showed acceptance and respect for all of her students. She was so very special. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I am so sad to hear this. Ms Miska was my 5th grade teacher. She was by far my favorite teacher, taking her own time to help me on many occasions. I am sure she went above and beyond for many students over the years.
I regret not telling her how much her time meant to me.

Joanna was a beautiful woman and an outstanding caring teacher. We teenagers had fun-filled and memorable get-togethers at her parents home. When we were colleagues teaching in the Town of Fairfield, I fondly remember her as a diligent, caring, and successful elementary school teacher. She was gregarious and enjoyed being with people. I will have only fond memories of Joanna. My deepest sympathy goes to her family.
With love and friendship,
