Michael A. Hughes

HUGHES Michael A. Hughes, age 57, of West Haven, beloved husband of Margaret Moran Hughes, died on Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Mr. Hughes was born in Bridgeport on January 9, 1953 to the late Charles (Chet) W. Sr. and Gladys Savage Hughes and was a lifelong Milford resident prior to moving to West Haven 14 years ago. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Hughes was a mechanic with Stevens Ford for several years and was a lifelong NASCAR fan. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Margaret, include a step-daughter, Sarah McAloon and her husband, Matthew of West Haven, two brothers, Thomas B. Hughes (Michele) and George F. Hughes (Kathy), all of Texas, two sisters, Catherine A. Tatro (Ed) of Naugatuck and Gladys M. Thomas (John ) of Milford and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hughes was predeceased by brothers, Charles W. Hughes, Jr., Joseph P. Hughes and Neil A. Hughes and by a sister, Sharon T. Hughes. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
