Neal Rorke

RORKE Neal J. Rorke, age 59, of South port, devoted husband of Alexis, loving father to Caitlin and Jack, passed away peacefully in his home with family on June 19, 2012. In addition to his beloved wife of 14 years and cherished daughter and son, Neal's memory will be embraced by his two sisters, Lorraine Bader, and her husband, Lani, of San Francisco, CA, Maryel Schneider, and her husband, Dick, of Bedford, NY; two brothers, Gregory Rorke, and his wife, Mimi, of Bronxville, NY, Robert Rorke, and his wife, Becky, of Edina, Minn.; members of the Tariska family; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius and Eleanor Moore Rorke. Born and raised in Livingston, New Jersey, he lived in St. James, NY, New York City, and Greenwich before settling in Southport 13 years ago. After attending Skidmore College, Neal worked in the film and television production industry, which included the show "Law & Order". His lifelong pursuit for physical fitness led Neal's career to employment with Cannondale Bicycle and Spynergy. A talented, successful tri athlete, Neal ran in over 20 marathons. He relished the thrill of competition, especially when racing his brothers, Greg and Bob. He loved being outdoors, bike riding, and walking different beaches with his family, and trusted canine companions, Nessie and Riley. Neal's greatest focus was his wife and children. He joyously stayed home to raise Caitlin and Jack when they were born, and genuinely strived to enrich their lives through his caring efforts. He possessed a wonderfully infectious sense of humor and will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and those he touched in life. His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 26th at 10 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. His interment will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, of Fairfield Center.
