Helen Droniak Bopko, age 88, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late George Bopko, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Helen, a retired assembler for Bunker Ramo was born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Mary (Rock) Dronaik and has been a long time area resident. She was a member of the Monroe and Shelton Senior Centers, where she was an avid Bingo player. Survivors include her devoted sons William Bopko and his wife Denise of Trumbull, and Richard Bopko and his wife Christine of FL, 7 grandchildren: Amy Gemmiti and her husband Chris, Jennifer Irey and her husband Shaun, Jessica Mc Dermott and her husband Rob, Billy Bopko and his fiancé Melissa Dieters, and Jamie, Brandon and Shawn Bopko, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents she was pre-deceased by her son George. Funeral services will take place on Friday May 31st at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a..m. in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe.
