Robert Galello Obituary
Galello, Robert J. Galello, age 64, of Stratford, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 26, 2014 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Patti Sorrentino-Galello, son of the late Angelo and Mary Pimpinella Galello. Bob was born on April 14, 1950 and resided in Stratford his entire life. He graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York and began his stellar career as a dedicated funeral director. Bob owned and operated Gallelo-Luchansky Funeral Home for 43 years and devoted his entire life to serving families and giving back to his community. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church. Bob truly loved spending time with his family, friends, laughing and enjoying life to the fullest. He could often be found traveling to the casino, where blackjack was his game of choice. In addition to his beloved wife Patti, Bob leaves his loving son, Craig R. Galello and his wife, Vanessa, of Bala Cynwyd, PA; his cherished grandson, Benjamin M. Galello. He also leaves his brother, Richard A. Galello and his wife Marie, of Stratford; two sisters, Diane M. Pekar and her husband, Andrew (Butch) of Huntington, Deborah M. Engelhard, of CA; a sister-in-law, Carol Galello, of Trumbull, a brother-in-law, Craig Sorrentino and wife Nancy; many nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was pre-deceased by his brother, Thomas E. Galello and brother-in- law, Robert Sorrentino. He will truly be missed and hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, June 2, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue Stratford celebrated by Rev. Andrew G. Marus and concelebrated by Msgr. Joseph W. Pekar. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 2 - 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute to Swim Across the Sound, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, 06606 in memory of Bob. I met Bob back in 1998 when I played a funeral mass at St. Ambrose church. What a charming man - he made an impact on everyone he met. Mrs. Galello and family......so very sorry for your loss.

I went to high school with Bob, I remember his locker was right across the hall from mine. He was a kind
and thoughtful young man then and his kindness and thoughtfulness were shown again when our paths crossed

Time stood still for each of us at the moment we learned that The Best of The Best of Us had left, because we KNEW the world had changed and would never be the same again. Patti & Family, I am so very sad to hear this news. Of course I was one of the many he supported and guided through family passings. I always loved seeing him and he always had a warm smile to offer.
