William Cardow Obituary

Cardow, William
William Cardow, 87, husband of Patricia Burke Cardow, Tall Oaks Farms Road, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014 at his residence.
Born in Derby, CT, he was the son of the late Adam and Agnes McIntyre Cardow. Mr. Cardow was a graduate of Bryant College in Rhode Island and attended Boston College. He later retired from Chevron Corporation where he worked as Regional Credit Manager. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. and a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge. He was an avid gardener in which he loved his vegetables and flowers and he also was very proud of his Scottish Heritage. Mr. Cardow loved his family and was two days short of celebrating his 59th wedding anniversary with his wife, Patricia. He will be truly missed.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Barbara Rochester and husband Tate of Tamassee, SC, Christine Cardow Price of Brookfield, CT and Kathi Dandorph of Seneca; sister, Margaret Murphy of Salisbury, CT; four grandchildren, Adam John Puteri and fiancée Emily of Beverly, MA, Zachary Dandorph of Seneca, Dan Puteri of Seneca, and Nichole Haber and husband Cleryson of Boston, MA; two great-grandchildren, Alessandra and Camilla Haber; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Cardow and sister, Edith Cardow.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family is at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Journey Hospice, 665 North Academy Street, Greenville, SC 29601. Condolences may be expressed online by visiting www.sandiferfuneralhome.com
