Lillian Blackwell Obituary
Lillian E. Blackwell, age 90, of Ansonia, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Blackwell. Lillian was born in Derby on December 16, 1924, daughter of the late James and Mary Yoia, and lived in Ansonia most of her life. She was a devoted homemaker and most loved spending time with her family. She is the beloved mother of Robert Blackwell (Sharon) of Ansonia, David Blackwell (Tammy) of Ansonia, Paul Blackwell (Maria) of Seymour, Linda Ratzenberger (Robert) of Woodbury, and Elizabeth Montefusco (David) of Beacon Falls. She also leaves a sister, Frances Poeta, eight cherished grandchildren, Kevin Barbieri, Robert Blackwell, Jr., Michael Montefusco, Lauren Racca, and David, Jessica, Ashley, and Melissa Blackwell, and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Blackwell. Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Friday from 4 to 8 PM. On Saturday her procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby. Memorial contributions can be made to Lillian's favorite charity, Mercy Home for Boy and Girls, 1140 West Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60607 (mercyhome.org) or through the funeral director.
