Nicholas Huydic Obituary
Nicholas J. Huydic, age 31, of Fairfield, the loving son of Edward and Mary (Gerosa) Huydic, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Born in New Haven, Nick was a graduate of Fairfield High School, Class of 2002, and Sacred Heart University with a B.S. in Business.
He was a Marketing Executive with LDC Sleep Management Center. Nick also worked previously at the CT Humane Society in Westport where he rescued animals and often brought them home. Nick's favorite pet, though, was his bulldog, Sammy. He was a master gardener and was well-known for his talent in growing giant pumpkins, which won consecutive state championships. His other passions in life included fly-fishing, bowling, hiking, and woodworking.
In addition to his parents, Nick is survived by his two brothers, Edward and Phillip Huydic, both of Fairfield.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Pius X Church in Fairfield. Interment is private. Friends may greet his family on Monday, March 2, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center. Donations may be made in his memory to the CT Humane Society, 455 Post Road, East, Westport, CT 06880.

Nine years since Nick left his family and friends. Time passing may have brought a bit of easing of grief to Nick´s parents, yet the enormity of his loss will always remain with them. Nick was a vibrant and delightful soul. In the short time I worked with him at the Westport Humane Society, I saw an animal loving young man with a big heart.

It is now eight years since your untimely passing Nick. You were a delightful and charismatic young man. I can still see you loving the animals at the Humane Society and then loving you. Gone far too soon but your family and friends cherish your memory.

In the brief time I knew Nick while working at the Humane Society in Westport, I was taken with his happy spirit and awesome charisma!!! Watching him interact with, and care for the animals was a joy! He had the heart of a Saint - I know he and Saint Francis continue to share their love for Gods creature, here and in Heaven. Bless you Nick.

Dear Huydic Family,
I am deeply saddened by the death of your precious son and brother, Nick. I knew Nick from working with him at the Westport Humane Society as a volunteer. His love for the animals was one of pure joy and touching to see. He was a wonderful and vibrant person. As Nick's parents you can be forever proud of the shining goodness he reflected to those around him. I pray for the Lord to ease your pain as you continue on without Nick. He surely is in Heaven with St. Francis, taking care of the animals.
