Ralph Kenneth Brannan(1931-2013)

Ralph Kenneth Brannan, 81, of League City, Texas, formerly of Carlsbad, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013. Ralph was born in Wichita, Kan., March 17, 1931. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and served aboard the USS Yorktown. Ralph was a pilot, sailboat captain, raced cars, bicycled from Alaska to Carlsbad at the age of 48, and was a world traveler. He was also a skilled photographer, having photographs of the Carlsbad Caverns, Africa, Ireland and Ecuador published worldwide.
Mr. Brannan was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph C. and Clara M. Brannan. He is survived by one daughter, Daunne Tuckwell and husband, Dan; one granddaughter, Jennifer Muise (husband, Kyle); two grandsons: Jason and Josh Tuckwell; and two great-grandsons: Ethan and Cameron Muise, all of Canada. Also surviving Ralph are three brothers: Larry (wife, Cherie), Carl (wife, Nita) and David (wife, Hazel); and two sisters: Carole Richards and Joyce Berryman (husband, Bud); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, Ralph has been cremated and his ashes will be scattered at sea. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Friends of the Living Desert, Carlsbad, N.M., in his name.
