Enrique Anaya Obituary
Enrique Anaya, 81, of Smedley Rd., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at his home.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, September 7, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral. A vigil is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Friday, September 7, 2018 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Enrique Anaya was born July 15, 1937 in Otis, New Mexico to Natividad and Amparo (Jimenez) Anaya. He was a long-time resident of the Carlsbad and Otis area. Enrique worked for Alfred
Porter Farms for over 50 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 4 years in Germany, returning to the United States after his service. Enrique met the love of his life Rafaela and they were blessed with three children. They enjoyed a blessed life together with their family. He loved to fish, go to the casinos and was a fan of boxing. Enrique was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan and played with Sapien Mariachis. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids. Enrique was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rafaela Anaya; grandson, Marcus Perez, Sr. and son, Abel Anaya.
Survivors are his daughter, Alva Armendarez and husband, Jack; son, Henry Anaya, Jr. and wife, Tammy; three brothers: Luz Anaya and wife, Enedina of Visalia, California, Calistro Anaya and wife, Velma of Hanford, California, Joaquin Anaya and wife, Lydia of Bakersfield, California. He is also survived by Lupe Morales of Hobbs, NM; grandchildren: Andrew Perez, Jr., Laura Perez, Dakota Anaya; great-grandchildren: Essence Cunningham, Ethan Garcia, Paityn Perez, C.J. Perez, Marcus Perez, Jr. and Teegan Perez.
Pallbearers will be Donald Martinez, Angel Martinez, Jr., Bobby Dominguez, David Fierro, Jr., Victor Hightower and Ray Martinez.
