My heart goes out to Diane's family, I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in all the wonderful memories she gave to us all. It has been many years but I still have fond memories coming to the house and watching and listening to her play guitar and sing. She was so kind and caring. If anyone has patience and an understanding heart it was her. Love to you all.

That's a beautiful tribute to Diane, the video. And it's so obvious that she and her husband loved each other very much. My condolences to Ann and the rest of her family.

I can't believe I've known Diane since 1983 when we were both Psychology Majors at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. We bonded early having been in several classes together, study groups (usually involved some beer), Labs, etc. Not only did Diane become a dear friend during the early-mid 1980's, she also became a good friend of my twin brother Chris, and even shared a house with several other "girls", one of which was my sister Angie. It was oddly comforting knowing she was looking out for my brother. Damn, I miss her and my brother... I'll bet they are enjoying a beer right now. Diane came to Ogallala, NE for Chris' funeral and that meant so much to me and my family. I won't ever forget going to her during the regulation "luncheon" after the funeral and she was just sobbing. She told me she couldn't look at Chris' son Andrew because Andrew looked so much like Chris. Although this may sound odd, but it was yet another sign of our's and Chris' friendship.
I didn't have to talk to Diane on a daily or even weekly basis because our friendship was strong and stable, ongoing. I feel SO fortunate to have seen Diane and Mike When they came out to Denver to be seen at National Jewish Hospital -- I was comforted by this because those MD's there are the best. I'm pretty sure there were a couple of pictures taken during dinner at Maggiano's. One day I hope Mike will come across them and send them my way. I did an exhaustive search of nearly 10,000 photos.
Thank you Mike for being there for her -- I don't have to tell you how happy that made me. Her passing made reminded me that we were all getting older and these things happen -- but to other people, not us. She will be sorely missed. Much Love from, Dr. Nielsen (Diane always called me that in lieu of my real name), Craig Nielsen

To Dianes family, may your cherished memories of Diane provide lasting memories and comfort. May God continue to provide your family all that you need as you grieve your loss. Diane was a very special lady. She had so much compassion and kindness for others. I was blessed to work with her at HHS; she was my supervisor; it was a friendship and partnership that left a lasting impression of me. She taught me the kind of person I wanted to be! I looked up to her. Sending much love to all of you!

Diane will definitely be missed. I always loved when I would come to Broken Bow and we would just spend hours reminiscing about all of our siblings. We had so many between our two families it could take a long time.
We now have another guardian angel and she can dance and sing with our other guardian angels.
Love you
