After 89 years on this earth, this fine man Richard Carl Hines went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Richard was born in Louisville, KY on March 30, 1927 to his father, Richard Burton Hines, and his mother, Eva Dolly Hines (Vincent). He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Maxine Hines (Brackett), his son, Richard Hines Jr., and his wife, Coralee Hines, two granddaughters, Stefanie Harriff and her husband Adam Harriff, and Alysa Smith and her husband Stephen Smith, also two great grandchildren, Vivien and Yannick. Richard was also survived by his brother Robert Lee Hines and sister Wanda Turner. He faithfully worked for Tennessee Gas Pipeline for 43 years and worked hard every single day. He was a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church. Richard proudly served his country during WWII. He wanted the very best for everyone and was generous to a fault. But, most importantly, he trusted Jesus, and leaves behind 3 generations who are following his example. His passing may not have been unexpected, but he was the only one ready for it. We will all miss him dearly, waiting for the day when we will see him again. His faith is now sight. A memorial will be held at a later date for family and friends.
