Alma Mae Pierce, 88, of Farmington, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 in Farmington. She was born July 26, 1924 in Odin, Ill. to George and Lillian Nicholson.
Alma was retired from K-Mart. She was an avid pool player. When lived in Williston, N.D., she was a member of a team that went to the 1986 Busch Pool League National Championship.
Alma lived and worked in Laughlin, Nev. at the Edgewood Casino. She moved back to Farmington and lived here until she passed.
During her time here she was a regular at the Farmington Senior Center.
She played in and won many pool tournaments in San Juan County. Alma was a Meals on Wheels Driver, past president of the Farmington AARP and a life member of the VFW Post 2182 Auxiliary.
As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Alma will be greatly missed.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, John Pierce; sons, baby Johnny Bill and Orval Joe Pierce; her parents, George and Lillian Nicholson; two brothers; a sister and three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Pierce; daughter, Janice (Guy) Easley; daughter-in-law, Paula Pierce; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Alternative Choice Chapel in Farmington.

My condolences to her family. Alma was a very nice pool playing person. She will be missed. I enjoyed talking to her whenever I saw her out and about.
