Abel "Abe" E. Saiz

Abe Saiz our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Grandfather was called home to our heavenly Father on April 2nd 2020.

He was born on Dec. 16th 1948 in Farmington N.M. to Casimiro and Eulalia "Lila" Saiz. After graduating from Bloomfield High school,

He Served Honorably in Vietnam as a US Marine and was highly decorated including the Purple Heart. After Vietnam he settled and raised his Family in Bloomfield N.M.

As a Proud American, he was a dedicated contributor to the Veteran community serving as local commander in Aztec and as the State commander of the VFW .

He also worked as a Police officer, a truck driver, and as an Operator in the Oil and Gas industry. What he loved Most was, God, Family, and spending time in the outdoors with his family and friends.

Abe was a very gifted athlete, hunter, fisherman, and cowboy.

Abe was preceded in death by both his parents Casimiro, and "Lila" , and two of his great grandchildren Aria, and Zachariah.

He is survived by one of his closest Aunts, Florance Florez , his wife Marcia Saiz, his 3 sons Jerry (Carrie), Erik (Renne), Edward (Shawna), his Daughter Donnette Ford (Mike) and his Stepdaughter Alicia Ellsaesser (Jacob). His Brothers Ted (Cheryl), Charles (Marnie), Gary (Claudia), Kevin (Hadasa), and his Sister Lena Clapper (Doug). His 14 Grandchildren Lacey, Daniel, Ashley, Amber, Adrianna, Taylor, Lane, Breanne, Caleb, Mallory, Lalia, Deztini, Charlee, and Bella. His 4 Great Grandchildren; Trace, Cadence, Braxen, and Amoura.

He is also survived by many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be a Rosary on Friday May 21st at 7:00p.m. and Funeral Mass on Saturday May 22nd at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic church in Bloomfield, N.M.

Burial will follow at the Bloomfield Catholic cemetery on Saiz Lane.

Offering our condolences and prayers for your family during this stressful time. Abe exemplifies strength and a commitment to his family and community through his service. I didn't meet him but his story is inspiring to reflect on. We could all learn from Abel by putting ourselves in the line of duty.
