LaDell Light, Sr., 37, passed from this life on Thursday, April 4, 2013. His clan is Bitter Water (To'dachiinii) and born for Mexican People (Nakai Dine).
LaDell is survived by two sons, Shaydell Light and Skye Orion Light; wife, Lorraina Light; parents, LeRoy Sr. and Nancy A. Light; three brothers that he loved so much; LaVell (Romelda) Light, LaMar Light and LeRoi (LaShawna) Light; four beautiful nieces and two nephews; maternal grandparents, Jerry Sr. and Rose A Johnson (Shiprock); God-parents, Lavone (Poncho) and Carrie A. Garnenez (Hogback); aunties, Kerlena Tso, RoLena Brown, Marie Lope and Sara Tsinnaginnie. Uncles, Tony, Lester, Gerald Light, James and Brian Iron-Moccasin; cousin brothers, Gerald Garnenez, Herm, Jay, Jeremy, Jared Johnson, Leiester and Arnold Light; cousin sisters, Willa Hacesa, Willeto Nabahe, Rhianna, Savannah and Samara Brown, Hermina Johnson, Mina Francis, Rigina, Virgilia Light and Rachel Brown and many other cousin brothers and sisters that he adored and loved so much.
LaDell was preceded in death by an infant son, LaDell Light Jr.; older brother, LeRoy (Sonny) Light Jr.; uncle, Samuel J. Johnson; cousin brother, Gerry Garnenez; paternal grandparents, Ray and Louise Light and Aunt Reba Bennallie.
LaDell was born Sept. 1, 1975 in Farmington. He graduated from Aztec High School in 1994 and then attended New Mexico Highlands University. He trained to be a welder in Albuquerque and became a good welder. He loved working as a team at any job he worked. His last job was working for S and J Machine Shop in Farmington.
His athletic abilities continued after high school and college. He stayed in shape and remained competitive in the various sports that he enjoyed and was participating in the Amateur MMA. He had been scheduled to compete in Las Vegas, Nev.
LaDell was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin. His sweet smile, jokes and laughter will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, at the Dineh Baptist Church in Waterflow.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
Pallbearers are LaVell Light, LaMar Light, LeRoi Light, Jason Cortez, Herman J. Johnson and Jerry J. Johnson Jr. and alternate, Dan Clark.
