Betty Ruth (Branch) Steed Obituary
Betty Ruth (Branch) Steed, 87, of Aztec, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at home, surrounded by loved ones. Betty was born in Bonanza, Colo., to Robert and Blanche Branch and grew up in the San Luis Valley, Colo. On Sept. 10, 1943, Betty married the love of her life, O.T. Steed and they celebrated 69 years of marriage, before his death in April 2013. Betty was known for her coconut cream and raisin pies that she always made for O.T., as well as her buttermilk pancakes. Betty worked at Hacienda for 13 years, but was better known for being an amazing homemaker, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, who set an example with her faith and conviction in what she believed. Together they had seven children, June Farson of North Carolina, Jackie (Don) Weber of Colorado, Denny (Linda) Steed of California, JoLyn (Gary) Adams of Florida, Jill Lau of Colorado; Teddi Webb of Aztec and Darrin (Kelly) Steed of Aztec. There are 22 grandkids; 43 great-grandkids; and nine great-great-grandkids.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington.
