James "Jai" Morales-Draper

James "Jai" Morales-Draper of Upper Fruitland, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, in Farmington. He was born May 31, 1976, in Shiprock, to Jimmy Draper Sr., for Tl'aashchi'I, Red Bottom People clan, and born to Lenora Draper, Tah neeszhanii, Tangle/Badlands People clan. His maternal grandfather's clan is Naakai dine'e, Mexican clan, and his paternal grandfather's clan is 'Ashiiihi, Salt People clan.
James was known and loved by many. He attended Kirtland schools and graduated from Farmington High School with the Class of 1995.
He earned his cosmetology certificate from Mr. John's Beauty School and his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Health Information Technology from San Juan College.
He loved traveling, beading, dancing, pow wows, music/concerts, video games, movies and especially spending time with family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Draper Sr.; his brother, Jimmy Draper Jr.; maternal grandparents, Donald and Ester Curtis; and paternal grandparents Alfred and Louise Draper.
"Jai" is survived by his mother, Lenora M. Draper-Morales; sisters, Brenda Draper (Melvin) Chischilly, Vera Draper (Ernie) Peshlakai and Laurene Draper (Dexter) Becenti; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services for James will be at 10 a.m. on Monday Jan. 9, at the LDS Stake Center in Kirtland.
Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington.
A reception celebrating James life will follow at the Becenti residence in Upper Fruitland.
Pallbearers include Michael Draper, Spike Draper, Mark Benally, Edmen Peshlakai, Joshua C. Benally, "Alf" Benally, Byron Aspaas, Marquez Barton, Orlando Johnson and Brandon Velasquez.
