Aunt Virginia helped me when I was student teaching about 6 years ago. I was assigned by my master teacher to instruct my class in the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and she helped me understand some terms I didn't understand. I really needed her, and I had the opportunity to see what a great teacher she really was.
She was so supportive of Vic's and my marriage and welcomed me with open arms into the family, and I will always be grateful for that. She was such a positive lady.

Ms Cornwell was a wonderful teacher,a very kind person and I remeber her fondly. Her lessons in written communications have helped me countless times through the years. She, along with Ms Rappaport and Ms Yost provided me an excellent foundation for life. Rest in peace.

Virginia was a dear friend and an outstanding teacher. She made learning come alive so that it enriched life in countless ways. I shall always be grateful for the love of learning she prompted in my sons at RUHS. She was an inspiration to all of us and will be missed by many.

"As a new teacher to RUHS (1966-1990) I instantly liked and looked up to Virginia Cornwell. She was very intelligent, kind and inspiring. One of the many outstanding teachers of the RUHS English Department."

She taught me so much, not just American Lit. She was through and through a lovely lady. She often sent me birthday cards decades after I graduated from Redondo. I would see her at Helen Sinsabaugh's when we were both running errands for Helen in her later years.. Such a beautiful person, she will be dearly missed.
