David Dishon passed away on May 25, 2011 at the age of 52. David was born to Charles (Chuck) and Julia (Judy) Dishon on January 28, 1959 in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. David was a pleasant and much loved son. David had a special talent for entertaining young children and the kids all loved their "Uncle David". Dave was a talented artist (watercolors) and earned his living as a graphic artist with Best Buys Guide where he will be greatly missed. David had many interests including disc golf, kayaking and partying with his friends and family. He is survived by his daughter, Sara; his parents; two older brothers, Chuck (Paula) and Ray; younger brother, Steve (Karla); nieces, Charlene and Kasey; and nephew Paul. A memorial service will be held for David on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 2 pm at Ascension Lutheran Church, 26231 Silver Spur Rd., Rancho Palos Verdes. I've known Dave for over 40 years. We became friends, then roommates, then brothers. I shall never forget you, my friend, and the cherished time we shared as we grew up...the concerts, the river trips, and of course, Lawndale Beach. Who will sing with me now? I just don't know. See you when I get there - save me a place next to you!

Yesterday turned out to be the most shocking day I can remember. With just a few minutes to grab some lunch, I felt compelled to get a paper and peruse a few headlines. Well, I about fell out of my chair when I flipped past the obits and saw David's face staring back at me! No way! David is coming to see me tomorrow! (I'm his dentist)This just can't be!
I'll remember David for all the time we spent talking about all our many common interests (I always got in trouble with my staff when ever he was in), most recently he was proud to show off his recent late model Corvette project and we must have talked for about an hour after his appointment was over. We have lost a real gentle spirit in David's passing.

Our family will miss you David. We all miss seeing your smiling face when we come up the driveway. It is very sad now with out you. I remember you showing my kids how to draw in your garage. Sara and Jessica are both gret artists now and I know you helped them get started. May the memories of you live on forever. Our prayers are for you and with your family now wishing all of them peace and comfort.

David will be missed by all in the Brode family. I remember how Pam and I would look forward to visits to your home when we were young, and how much we enjoyed the time we spent with David and his brothers. David will be sorely missed.

Dave was our neighbor and always had something funny to say and
had a smile on his face all the time.
He will be sorely missed out watering the lawn and hanging
out in his garage with his bro, Ray.
Out hearts go out to his family and he will be remembered in
our prayers.

David was one of the friendliest and funniest people I've ever met. If there's ever been a guy with a better sense of humor I've yet to meet him. My one regret is that it was far too long ago that I got to spend time with him. My heart goes out to the Dishon family in this trying time. Brother Ray and I were best friends for many years and that's why I was blessed to have known David. For all of those who knew David, my suggestion is to just remember the good times and be thankful that we got to spend the time we did with him. God bless you David, because I'm a better person for having known you.

Dave was part of the Swaine Studio "family" for over 8 years. He was a very talented and dependable graphic designer who helped us make the transition from triangle and t-square to computer. Even though it's been years, our sons, now 20 and 17, fondly remember the games he played with them. Our thoughts are with Dave's family over his way-to-early loss.
With the greatest sympathy,

Dave was a good friend and will be missed. I moved out to Arizona some time ago, but saw him several times a year when visiting my family. His brother Ray and I have been friends for over 25 years...where will we find a fourth for darts or golf as cool as Dave? He was irreplaceable.
