Meralyn Martin
Meralyn Martin 90, died Thanksgiving day, November 22, 2012 at the West Anaheim Medical Center in Anaheim California. She went peacefully in the presence of the people she dearly loved. Ms. Martin was born April 27, 1922 in Detroit Michigan to Harold and Lucille Martz. She married Alfred Luceyk in Detroit where she gave birth to 2 daughters. In 1948 the family moved to California and in 1953 she gave birth to her third daughter. She attended Moorpark College in Simi Valley, California and was graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology. With declining health she moved to Palmer Alaska in 2002 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She loved Alaska, especially the Palmer Adult Day Center which she attended as often as possible. Throughout her life she was always happy, harbored no ill will for anyone and was kind to all. She was always the center of attention and had an infectious laugh that was irresistible. The one claim that she repeatedly made throughout her life was that she had taken Jesus into her heart when she was eleven years old and he has been there ever since. This was her greatest comfort. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred and her 3 brothers. She is survived by her 3 daughters and their husbands, Sylvia and Wayne Thomas of Torrance, CA, Karen and Leo Nardin of Palmer, AK, April and Robert Lenz of Laguna Hills, CA; grandchildren Kara Nagaoka, Michael Quintana, Sylvia Thomas, Michael Thomas, Christopher Lenz, Patrick Lenz, and Cassandra Lenz. Visitation will be held at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes California on December 1, 2012. At 9:00 am with a celebration of life service at 11:30 am and a Committal Service to immediately follow. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
