Dear Faust Family,
My name is Maria Valdez and I had the honor to meet Mr. Faust when my husband Carlos introduced me to him over 30 years ago.
Carlos met Mr. Faust growin up and hanging around with his son Dale on 6th st. neighborhood in San Pedro. Although Dale and Carlos drifted apart and lost contact, Carlos kept in touch and tried to visit Mr. Faust every chance he had. When Carlos and I were dating he would bring me along to visit and even after we got married and had our daughter and son he still tried to call or visit him. I truly enjoyed listening to their conversations. Even our kids enjoyed visiting with him when they were little. Once in a while our son Vance (maybe 6yrs or 7 yrs old) would ask Carlos; "dad can we walk to 6th street and visit the nice man in the alley?".
Please know that Carlos had great love and respect for Mr. Faust and ALWAYS spoke very highly of him. It was because of Mr. Faust that Carlos obtained his Welding certificate and continued with his education.
Sadly and unexpectedly my loving Carlos passed away on 01/20/12 and so did my loving son Vance on 03/27/12. I know Carlos and Vance are now definitely visiting with Mr. Faust in heaven, catching up and watching over all of us.
Our sincere sympathy and deepest condolences to the Faust family.
Maria Valdez
