Alex Turlis Obituary
peacefully passed on February 6, 2011 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Born February 28, 1923 in Tacoma, Washington, he and his family have been residents of Torrance for over 47 years. He was an active member of St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church. Alex served during WWII in the United States Navy. His life's occupation was architectural services and he ended his career when he retired from USC after 20 years as their architectural director. He is survived by his loving children, George (Terry) Turlis, Vicki (Lee) Ingraham and Valorie (Lew) Harrison He was Papou of Jeff Turlis, Greg (Janet) Turlis, Leland (Tiffany) Ingraham, Danielle Harrison, Alexandria Ingraham and Nicole (Richard) Schwartz, and Great-Papou of Leland Alexander Ingraham. A Trisagion Service will be held at St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church in Redondo Beach tonight, Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM. The Mercy Meal follows.
