Angela Ursula Satalich Obituary
Angela Ursula Satalich

Born May 30, 1917 in what was Berwind, Colorado, she passed away November 17, 2011. Angela lived a long life. In high school, she played for a championship basketball team ad later coached a high school basketball team. She also played semi-pro softball. Also in her youth Angela joined a grand opera company and played in a Tamburica Orchestra. Angela moved to Los Angeles and then to San Pedro in the early 1940s, met John Gabriel Satalich and they were married in 1943. Angela spent the remainder of her years living and working in San Pedro. In her middle years she was employed as an agent for Monreal Realty after which she was employed at San Pedro Hospital in admitting in the E.R. until her retirement. What she believed was her most important job and what she will be remembered for by her family was her homemaking, cooking, gardening and child caring. She was always available for her family at any time. She was especially skilled at refurbishment of many things, others might have thrown away. Her daughters and grandchildren will remember how much she loved and did for the holidays and particularly how magical she made Christmas. During the week before her passing, and despite her 94 years, her determination had her beginning house preparation for the holidays just as she always had, of course. Angela was predeceased by her husband, John. She is survived by her daughters, Rose, Juge, Yvonne (David) Heath and Roberta (Kevin) Faciane; her grandchildren, John and Matt Simundich, Derek Heath, Alex, Nick and Angela Faciane; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Blanchard; and several nieces and nephews. We love you Mom, Grandma, Teta, Angie and we will miss you so much, especially during the holidays. Visitation will be Monday, 6-7 p.m. with a vigil service following at 7:00 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary Chapel. A funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at Mary Star of the Sea Church, followed by entombment at Green Hills Memorial Park. You are welcome to sign the guestbook
