August 18, 1920 - August 19, 2012

Tony Trani, a "Real San Pedran", passed away peacefully at home on August 19th. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincenzo and Mary Carmela and all of his siblings, brothers, Joe, Nick (Eda), Frank (Muriel) and John (Bernadette); and sister, Ann (Albert) Pirozzi. He is survived by his spouse of 65 years, Jennie; son, Joe (Jovita) and daughter, Carmella (Arno) Zwarg; grandsons, Michael (Kristen) and Marc; great-grandson, Luc and numerous nieces and nephews. He served as an usher at Holy Trinity Catholic Church for over 50 years and was a member of the parish's Legion of Mary Ministry. He served in the US Navy during WWII. From post WWII until 1996 Tony co-owned and operated Trani's Shoe Repair in San Pedro along with his brother, John. Together they won several Western Regional Shoe Service Championships and in 1977 they won the National Championship, which by contest rules could only be acclaimed once. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 2100 S Western Ave, San Pedro. The rosary will be recited on Monday, August 27, 2012, 9:30am, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00am. Both services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro.
