Artice Campbell

Artice Campbell passed away on September 10, 2012 in Fallbrook, CA after suffering a stroke. She was born December 29, 1914 in Lincoln, NE. She is predeceased by her husband, Jack whom she married on January 10, 1939 in Council Bluffs, IA. After the birth of their daughter the Campbells moved to Inglewood, CA where they became involved in civic and school organizations. Mrs. Campbell served as president of the Inglewood High School PTA 1955-1956. She also served several vice presidencies in the 33rd District of California PTA. Her duties there included helping approximately fifty new schools launch their PTA organizations. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell were instrumental in forming the American Field Service chapter at Inglewood High and also began the area's first Grad Night program, an all-night dance held at the Hollywood Palladium. In 1974 the Campbells moved to Harbor City, where they continued their service to the community. Mrs. Campbell served as a deputy registrar of voters and also oversaw elections for the two voting precincts at the San Rafael mobile home park. Even with all of her local community involvement, Mrs. Campbell treasured her Nebraska roots and was a loyal supporter of Cornhusker football right up to the end.
